Diagonal siding. Why does anyone think this looks good? It needs to be made punishable by death.

I’ve never seen that before, but I kind of like it. Maybe it would work best like on a modern take of an Eichler house.

Wow never seen that, awful. Some old Victorians in SF have some various patterns in select places, even dragon scale looking shingles. But that is awful.

Where does these atrocities exist?

I’ve never seen that before, but I kind of like it on everything below the eaves.

Only the finest aluminum, too. Also, this combined with the brick makes me dizzy.

There’s a house near near by that has fish scale looking shingles but I actually like it.
The other day I saw small blue house with a purple aluminum roof. It was cute.

I’ve never seen that before. And I wish I kept it that way.
That looks awful.

Well it’s totally different in classic buildings, you know with craftsmanship! Some do get a little nuts here.

Yes, this, and 45 degree walls inside the houses. A waste of space and is only used by those who are not creative enough to do a good design with 90 degree corners and need some sort of flashiness to fool suckers into thinking you’ve created an inventive floorplan.
And while we’re at it, I hate diamond patterns in car upholstery. It just looks cheap to me, even if it’s in a Bentley.
/rant off

It was a fad in the PNW in the 70s and 80s, especially in cedar. I lived in a late 70s development when I was a kid, and it was all over the place.

agree - not a fan, especially with vinyl like that one.

I’m not gonna ban myself.

I think it looks good on peaks. That’s the way it was on my parents house when it was built in 1916.

I did a diagonal laminate flooring install once. Never again.

Everywhere. I’ve seen it on everything from cabins to mansions.

There’s a duplex in my neighborhood with it. Looks like it should be in Florida.

I hate houses with angled floor plans. Even worse are curved walls. Who thought that was a great idea? How the hell am I supposed to measure a damn curve? I got into appraising so I don’t have to do complicated math.
